Our adored mother Shirley Grace Taylor Charpentier, 89, of East Norwalk passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2012 with her loving family by her side at Norwalk Hospital.
Born on November 17, 1922 in Norwalk, Connecticut, Shirley was the daughter of the late Harry Taylor and Grace Phillips Valentine.
Shirley married Paul Charpentier on November 13, 1943 in Westport; raising five children - three boys and two girls. She was a consummate mother, a quiet unassuming woman who loved her family.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Paul, sisters Marjorie and Eleanor, brothers Philip, Harold and William.
Shirley is survived by her daughters Michele and Roberta; Sons Robert, Michael and Peter; granddaughters Melissa and Tiffany; grandsons Derek, Brian, Zachary and Liam and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen Nette and husband Kenneth; goddaughter Beverly Arndt and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may gather at 9:00 AM TODAY, July 18, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
