Sylvia DeLuca Mariani
February 24, 1926 - October 12, 2012
Sylvia DeLuca Mariani of Norwalk, Connecticut and Phoenix, Arizona passed away on October 12, 2012. She was born on February 24, 1926, the daughter of Sylvia and Rocco De Luca. Sylvia was predeceased by her beloved husband Alexander Mariani, her loving sister Isabelle Picanza and husband John, and her dear brother Alfonso DeLuca.
She is survived by a niece, Joan Schauwecker and husband Richard, her nephews John Picanza and wife Carol, and William J. Picanza, and by her many great nieces and great nephews.
An avid New York Yankees fan, Sylvia never missed watching a game and rooting for her favorite team. She loved working in her garden and tending to her Connecticut and Arizona homes. She was an active and outgoing person and she will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Funeral arrangements in Arizona will be private followed by a memorial service to celebrate Sylvia's life. There also will be a memorial service for family and friends in Connecticut at a date to be determined by the family.
