Vincent E. O'Reilly
Formerly of Norwalk
Vincent Edward O'Reilly, age 82, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born February 18, 1930 in Norwalk, CT, he was a son of the late James J. and Margaret M. (Diessler) O'Reilly.
Vince served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for a number of years and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Springfield College in Massachusetts. Vince spent most of his working life, in both Connecticut and Pennsylvania, as a Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America. He was also employed by Westy's Beverage Distributor before retirement and afterwards gave generously of his time, volunteering at HealthSouth. Vince was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg and was an avid New York Giants and Yankees fan.
Surviving are his wife, Marine (Ouellet) O'Reilly; daughters, Kathleen O'Reilly of Camp Hill, PA, Karen Svorcek of Asheville, NC, Marina Matthew and husband John of New Cumberland, PA, and Susan O'Reilly of Camp Hill, PA; grandchildren, Megan and Andrew Svorcek and C.J. and Pauline Matthew; as well as four brothers, Thomas John, Robert, and Patrick. Vince was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth, Margaret, James, and Gene.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Friday, August 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, PA. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Holy Spirit Hospital, 501 N. 21st Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to Lower Allen Township EMS, 2233 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
