Wilfred Perez, a retired architectural draftsman, died suddenly on Tuesday September 11, 2012 while vacationing in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Will was born June 27, 1941 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, the son of Nicholas and Natividad Montes. He traveled the world while proudly serving in the US Marines from 1963 to 1969. On April 19, 1980 he married Nancy E. Bellows in Poughkeepsie, New York. She survives him at home.
Will retired in 2002 after working in the architectural draftsman and precision tool fields. He began his career at The Rockefeller University, in New York, NY, where he met his wife. In 2006 and 2007, Will worked as a project manager for the Town of Wilton for the Veterans Memorial Football Stadium project at Wilton High School.
Will took great joy in helping others, had a passion for Latin music, and loved exercising and tinkering in his workshop. A Wilton, CT resident for 22 years, he adored his family and two pugs. In addition to his wife, Will is survived by his loving sons, Christopher W. of Boston, Massachusetts, Gregory M. of London, England, and Brandon W. of Florida, five brothers and sisters, several brothers- and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, Connecticut from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 5 Oenoke Ridge in New Canaan, Connecticut. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Wilton, Connecticut. Memorial donations may be made to PAWS (Pet Animal Welfare Society), 504 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851.
