Willie B. Canty, of Norwalk, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He was born on May 1, 1927 in Camden, SC to the late Ned and Mary Canty.
Willie was educated in the Kershaw County School System. He later entered and retired from the United States Army. He worked for the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency for many years. Willie was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing the game.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, a longtime companion, Mrs. Erma Torian of Norwalk, CT; son, Kevin Canty of Norwalk, CT; sister, Rebecca Mingo of the Bronx, NY; grand-daughters, Kristin Canty and Stephanie Canty; great-grandson, Jayden Franklin, all of Norwalk, CT; one sister-in-law of Camden, SC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. Predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 22 Lexington Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
