Robert C. Iannacone, age 70 of Stratford, died on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at home with his wife, Marguerite, by his side. Born in Norwalk, the son of the late Cyrus J. and Mary (Pauline) Iannacone, Bob retired from R. T. Vanderbilt and was the beloved husband of Marguerite (Matro) Iannacone for 42 years. A talented ball player, he was scouted by the pros in high school and enjoyed playing softball with the Laurel Athletic Club,where he was a member for 50 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 brothers; Richard and William Iannacone, 7 nephews: Jason and Shawn Iannacone, Charles, Paul and Jake Mastrianna, Steven and Joseph Mancuso, Mother-in-law, Ann Matro, sisters-in-law, Concetta Mastrianna and Felicia Mancuso, brother-in-law Vincent Matro and very close friends Sherrie and Tony Roman (and Kris, in spirit), Marianne and Ray Drapeau, Donna and Paul Kelley and Rosemarie and Dave Laverdure and not to be forgotten, his cat Fluffy. He was predeceased by his father-in-law James Matro.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, June 5 at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd, Norwalk. Committal services to be held at a later date. His family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 8PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk.
