Rose Mangone Chiaia
Formerly of Norwalk
Rose Mangone Chiaia, age 88, of Naples, Fl, formerly of Norwalk, beloved wife of Louis L. Chiaia for 64 years, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 in Avow Hospice Center, Florida. Rose was born in Norwalk on March 10, 1926, daughter to the late Antonio and Annuniziata (Monteleone) Chiaia.
Rose had a career as a budget coordinator for the Save the Children Foundation for many years. She was a member of the Naples Park Association and had a passion for bowling and playing cards.
In addition to her husband Louis, Rose is survived by a son, Louis, LJ and his wife Sharene, as well a 3 grandchildren, Louis J., Morgan E., and Philip G. Chiaia and many cousins and nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by 3 brothers, Dominick, Anthony and Joseph Mangone, as well as a sister Julia Chiappetta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 17, at 10 AM at St. Philip Church, 25 France Street, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Rose's family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16 at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, from 4 to 7 PM.
