Joseph Leonard Macri

Joseph Leonard Macri, age 86, of Norwalk passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, September 1. He was the loving husband of Terry (Toyoko) Tojo Macri. Joseph was born in Stamford on December 7, 1927, the son of the late Patsy and Emma Macri. He served his country for 28 years; in the U.S. Navy during WWII, the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and the Army reserves during Viet Nam. He was a self-employed landscaper and a member of the American Legion and the Ischoda Yacht Club. He loved to travel the world and was an avid salt water fisherman and boater.
In addition to his wife survivors include a son, Joseph Macri, Jr. and his wife Donna, grandchildren Lindsay, Stephen, R.J. & Taylor Macri, daughter-in- law Linda Macri, all of Norwalk, his brothers Frank Macri of Norwalk, Paul Macri of VT and Eugene MacAndrews of Norwalk, sister Rose Holland of Newtown and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his son James Macri and several brothers and sisters.
The Macri family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Thursday, Sept. 4 from 5-8 PM. Services and interment will be private. For directions or to leave an online condolence, please go to
