Jorn Wandahl Andersen, age 71, beloved husband of Elaine Giczey Andersen of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at Westport Health Care Center on Sunday, April 15, 2012. He was born November 22, 1940 in Frederiksberg, Denmark to the late Kjeld and Hildur Rasmussen Wandahl Andersen.

Mr. Andersen graduated with a Masters Degree in Manufacturing and Engineering from the University of Copenhagen. Throughout his career he worked in research and development of plastic products for American and European Companies from which patents were awarded for products that are widely used today. During his life Jorn lived in Indiana, Georgia, New Jersey, Vermont and Denmark. He loved to share his Danish culture, family history and experience to all who knew him. Jorn enjoyed cooking gourmet meals, restoring antiques, sailing, and the beaches during the summer.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include two sons, Christian Andersen and his wife Tracey, and their son Brock, of Newburgh, Indiana; Brett Andersen and his wife Jahari of Brookline, VT and two sisters in law living in Denmark. He was predeceased by two brothers, Per and Kurt Wandahl Andersen.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street, has been entrusted with arrangements.
