Michelle Moore Christopherson, 48, of Hyde Park, NY and formerly of New Milford, CT, passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
The ray of sunshine that brightened so many lives has become an even brighter star shining down on us from the heavens. Michelle's boundless energy, spirituality, positive attitude and genuine concern for others enabled her to make a difference in the many lives she touched. She was a free spirit, living life to the fullest whether it be sailing, skiing, travelling, swing dancing, kayaking with her little dog "Kaya", or horseback riding with her beloved "Darby". She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of music, poetry, flowers and especially the natural world of animals, woodlands and waterways. With a passion for healing, she was dedicated to her massage therapy practice at Sage Massage. Above all, she believed in the power of love, and in sharing that love with us all.
Michelle is survived by her parents Richard and Patricia Moore of Hyde Park, NY, brother Glenn Moore and wife Kathryn of Alexandria, VA, sister Gretchen Moore and husband Jimmie Simmons of Schenectady, NY, sister Lynnette Moore and nephews Scott, Sean and Brenden Glynn of West Yarmouth, MA, former husband Peter Christopherson of New Milford, CT and partner Claude Le Henaff of Hyde Park, NY. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1982 and Russell Sage College in 1990.
We are deeply grateful for the warm support of Michelle's many friends during her journey of the past two years. We're particularly indebted to some very special "angels" at Hospice, Vassar Brothers Hospital, Dyson Center Radiation Oncology and Westchester area medical facilities.
There will be no calling hours.
