James E. Lucchesi
Lifelong Norwalk Resident
James E. “Jim” Lucchesi, age 80, devoted husband of Katherine “Kitty” Zullo Lucchesi, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Wednesday, October 24. Jim was born in Norwalk on December 8, 1931, the son of the late Joseph Lucchesi and the late Gilda Lucchesi Tomea.
He was a graduate of Norwalk High School and the College of Life Underwriters. Jim worked for many years as an insurance broker, first with John Hancock and then branching out on his own as an independent broker. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Oak Hills Golf Assoc. Throughout his life in Norwalk Jim always enjoyed his time spent at the beach. He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. What was most important to Jim was his family. His wife, children and grandchildren and his extended family were his life and he will be dearly missed by them all.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his son James “PT” Lucchesi, his daughter Lisa Lucchesi, grandchildren Marisa and James “Naki” Lucchesi, sister-in-law Rose Lucchesi and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Joseph Lucchesi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 27, 11 AM at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery. Jim's family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 AM.
