Louis A. Iazzi, Sr. born on Strawberry Hill in New Canaan on August 31, 1914 died peacefully on November 9, 2012 at Norwalk Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret DeRosa and eight siblings.
The beloved father of one son, Louis (Gene) Iaizzi, Jr. and two daughters, Theresa Garibaldi and her husband Joseph, and Lois DeMartino and her husband Tony. Lou, also known as “Coop” has six granddaughters and fourteen great-grandchildren. He had been looking forward to becoming a great-great grandfather this Thanksgiving.
Lou was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He served aboard the Henry Tucker. He was an avid golfer, a hatter, sports enthusiast and he cared for the sick. He was best known for his joy of life and love of people often expressed in letter writing, singing and self-taught guitar and harmonica playing. Short and frequent visits to see family and friends were his forte.
