Edward McNamara Obituary
Formerly of Darien
Edward Joseph McNamara, a resident of Heritage Village and formerly of New Seabury, Cape Cod and Darien, died Sunday, January 20th at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Mary (Lynch) McNamara.
Mr. McNamara was born October 16, 1927, in New Haven, son of the late Michael and Mary McNamara. He graduated from Hillhouse School in New Haven and Yale University, class of 1950. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1947. He was an executive with Vick's and Rorer Pharmaceutical companies prior to his retirement.
Besides his devoted wife of 57 years, he leaves his children, David McNamara MD of New Haven, Judy Reilly and Her husband, Larry, of Fairfield, and Tom McNamara and his wife, Donna, of Middlebury; and four loving grandchildren, Megan Reilly, and Molly, Tommy and Daniel McNamara. He will also be missed by his loyal dog, Zoe.
Funeral services took place in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, January 26th. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury on Saturday, January 26th at 10:00 am. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Village Ambulance Assoc., PO Box 2045, Southbury, CT 06488.
