Korean War Veteran
George V. Connors, age 80, of Norwalk, died on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Yale New Haven. Born in Stamford, the son of George and Ann (Kusy) Connors, he was the loving husband of Eileen ( Slamon ) Connors for 43 years. A graduate of Stamford High School, class of 1950, he was an Army veteran of Korea. After the war, he graduated from UCONN and worked as an administrator for the City of Stamford. George was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
In addition to his wife Eileen, he is survived by his sister Nancy McGuire and her husband George of Norwalk as well as and 7 nieces, a nephew and 16 great-nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb 5 from 5 to 8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wed, Feb 6 at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
