Julianna "Jewel" F. Broeze, 89 of Langhorne, PA died Saturday August 17, 2013 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, PA.
Born in Queens, NY, a daughter of the late Charles and Julianna Hoffmann Felten, she was formerly a longtime resident of Norwalk, CT, before moving to Langhorne three years ago.
Mrs. Broeze was a retired Fox Run School Librarian in the Norwalk School System.
She was a member the Norwalk United Methodist Church for more than 40 years where she sang in the choir, served as a Stephen Minister and as Superintendent of the Sunday School for many years. She has been a member of Woodside Presbyterian Church (Yardley, PA) since 2010. She was a member of Tres Dias of Fairfield County, Past-President of the Norwalk Women's Club and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of New York State. During her retirement years she volunteered as an RSVP Travel Counselor for the Connecticut Bureau of Tourism. In 2005 she was a recipient of the 2005 Distinguished Advocates for Culture and Tourism Award from the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.
Wife of the late John E. Broeze, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Susan Broeze of Yardley, PA; a daughter, Laurel A. McCormick of Florida, and four grandchildren, Justin and Matthew Broeze, Jennifer Schaeffer and Jason McCormick.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10am Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Woodside Presbyterian Church, 1667 Edgewood Road, Yardley, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
