Father, Grandfather, Friend
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Bolton, father, grandfather and friend on October 29, 3013 at the age of 82. Mike died quietly after a brief battle with dementia and general old age.
Mike was born in Dominica, British West Indies on November 6, 1931. He grew up in the West Indies: Barbados, Trinidad, and Antigua, before finally settling in Canada and the United States.
Michael graduated from McGill University in 1953 with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. He had a long and successful carrier with International Paper, contributing to the patents for Viscose Rayon, and many other products we take for granted today. Mike retired at the age of 63.
Michael was a generous, humorous and loving family man and he leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Audrey, sons Peter (Lorraine), James, Alan and Christopher (Elizabeth), and grand children Maddy, Gillian, Goose, Thea and Oliver. We will miss him greatly, his wisdom, wit and kindness, as will his extended family in the England and West Indies.
Grateful thanks to his caregivers over the past year and to the staff of Notre Dame Convalescent Home.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm at St. Lukes Parish Church, 1864 Post Rd., Darien, Connecticut. A reception and celebration of Mike's life will follow at the church.
