Catherine Galassi Obituary

Catherine Galassi was born in Newark, NJ on June 3, 1925 to Anthony and Rena Evangelista. Catherine was a proud private nanny who was passionate about the welfare of the children in her care with whom she developed lifelong relationships. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Catherine had a love for animals and enjoyed tapestry and bingo, which she almost always won. She was a devout Catholic who received pleasure and comfort from her daily Bible readings. Catherine was preceded in death by two sisters Gloria Delius and Rose Schiano. She is survived by her son Dominic (Karol) of Memphis, TN; sister Joan Migliarese (John) of Norwalk, CT; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.memphisfuneralhome.net

I am so sad to hear of the passing of your wonderful mother and sister. She was an enormous part of my childhood and early adult life. I loved her dearly, was thrilled she attended my wedding and that I was able to share photos of my daughter with her. Sending love and comfort to you all. Please know what am amazing, kind, loving and generous woman I thought Catherine was.

My thoughts and prayers are with her son, Mr. Presty and his wife. Knowing Cathrine for a short time on this earth was a blessing ! I so enjoyed seeing her smile, she often spoke of her loving son . May she rest with the Lord in true peace.
