Joseph Scalisi Obituary

Joseph Japhet Scalisi, 82, husband of Katherine Mitchell Scalisi, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Norwalk Hospital. Born October 9, 1933, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Ellen Scalisi, he was a lifelong resident of Norwalk. Mr. Scalisi served on the USS Mount Baker as a Class A pipe-fitter during the Korean War. He was the owner of JS Welding Company in Norwalk and more recently, was employed by Peabody Engineering International, Sikorsky, Textron Lycoming and Perkin-Elmer. He was a member of the Men’s Spirituality Group at St. Jerome Church. In addition to Katherine, his wife of 34 years, Joseph is survived by his sister Barbara Brown of Ocala, FL; his daughter Linda Rollison of Tarpon Springs, FL; sisters -in-law Linda Caddie and her husband Ian and Jeanette Church as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Carol Scalisi; his brother Thomas and sisters Marjorie Jueson, Rosealie Penland and Virginia Namm. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 3 from 4 - 8 pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 4 at 10 am at St. Jerome Church, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
