Laura Salber Obituary

ST. EDWARD - Laura Mae Salber, 75, of St. Edward died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Cloverlodge Care Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Albion. The Revs. Stan Schmit and Jim Novotny will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, followed by a wake service at 7.

Mrs. Salber was born June 13, 1935, at Cornlea to Alphonse and Helen (Kramper) Borer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Salber, in March 2010.

Survivors of the immediate family include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Don and Kathy, Dan and Christy, and Doug, all of Albion, Dennis of Grand Island; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Diane and Jim Molt, Debra and Paul Kyncl, all of Albion, Doris Kolm of Cedar Rapids, Darlene and Gary Dethlefs of Rockville, Donna and Mike Pfeifer of Lindsay, Delora and Mark Clemen of Greene, Iowa; 28 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Leonard Borer of Elgin, Alvin Borer of Phoenix, Kenny Borer of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and a sister, Marlene Petzold of Elm Creek.

She attended St. John's School in Petersburg. She was united in marriage with Raymond Salber on Aug.24, 1953. The couple farmed in the Petersburg area until moving to the Albion area in 1955.

Laura enjoyed playing cards, reading and spending time with family.

Laura was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ed and Norman; and one son-in-law, Kevin Kolm.
