JoAnn Stanczyk Obituary

FULLERTON - JoAnn Stanczyk, 73, of Fullerton died Monday, May 28, 2012, at Golden Living in Fullerton.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peters Catholic Church in Fullerton. The Rev. Richard Whiteing will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a Scripture service followed by St. Ann's Rosary all at the church. Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stanczyk was born Aug. 25, 1938, at Genoa to Joseph and Wanda (Bialas) Lesiak.

Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Leonard; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Eileen Stanczyk and Charles and Jennifer Stanczyk, all of Fullerton; one daughter and son-in-law, Barb and Rusty Newquist of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores and Emil Rosno, Patricia and Ed Liss and Kathy and Ron Newquist, all of Fullerton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She attended District 23 and graduated Fullerton High School in 1956. On Oct. 4, 1958, she married Leonard Stanczyk at Fullerton. They lived and farmed southeast of Fullerton. She worked at Coast to Coast and Brogan's Drug in Fullerton. She also worked at Len and Jo's Grocery Store for over 16 years. She and her sister then had a dress shop Classic Casuals that they ran for several years.

She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and St. Ann's Alter Society.

She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
