There are so many happy memories of Sweet Caroline. The ones that stand out are the passions we share-Christmas, gardening and kids. I had the opportunity to spend time in her classroom and help with Special Olympics. What an amazing educator! What a gift we all have to have shared in her WONDERFUL LIFE! She will live on in all of our hearts.

I have been proud to have her as a part of my family for 40 years or so. Her talents and dedication have touched many lives, and will continue for years to come. Her laugh was so contagious, and I know she brought happiness to many, many people. Peace, sister.

What can one say about someone who made such a profound change in the world? She truly touched and left her mark on the hearts of everyone that knew her. (Who am I kidding? Anyone she had a passing moment with!)

She's the only person I've ever met that kept joy - that pure, child like joy in her heart. I will miss that joyful heart. She was always so happy just to BE. Even in excruciating pain, she would never let the smile fade.

She was a fabulous educator, but her most poignent lessons were taught by how she lived her life. Finding that joy and beauty in anything and EVERYTHING.

I was blessed to be able to spend some time with her recently. And for some reason she chose me to be her "sous chef", as she called it. If you know anything of me, finding me in a kitchen for any other reason than using it as a passage way to another room, is highly unlikely. (hahaha) But Caroline decided I needed some culinary knowledge. So for 4 days she guided, nudged and at times cajoled me into creating some wonderful dishes. And looking back on it, it felt like she knew she wanted to pass on just a little more knowledge that was desperately (haha) needed. And I feel so lucky to have received that knowledge.

I know in my heart she is continuing to bring joy, especially in all the hearts she touched and left behind. A void has been created that will never be filled. But I know she's singing and making others around her happy. So I am finding comfort in that.

Ms. McLaughlin was such a wonderful person. I was her TA my senior year at NL-S when she was assisting my brother, and I will never forget her kindness, compassion and wisdom. The world is definitely missing a great person with her passing. I wish I would have known about the service earlier, as I would have loved to pay my respects. Ms. Rakness, my thoughts are with you and the rest of the family. Bless you all.

I can't express our sadness at this time. Caroline was such a special teacher. Without her so many students wouldn't of had the skills or confidence to go out into the world and conquer it as they have. She gave them those. She will be missed greatly.

Don't know what else I can add that I haven't already told you. Still can't believe it and I was at the service. A very fitting and nice service. I haven't sang that song since I was a child, but I still remember. . .
We will miss Caroline greatly and Kathy maybe this year we'll bring you some goodies at Christmas!

I only knew Caroline through my niece, a student who has benefitted in so many ways from Caroline's dedication and direction. But I was always impressed with how she was able to perceive needs and address them. Caroline helped people be the best version of themselves, what better legacy is there to leave behind!! She will always live on in the lives that she graced with her love and kindness.

I have worked with Caroline for the past six years and was fortunate enough to be invited into her classroom. Caroline was a teacher extraordinaire, but the intent of her invitation was to show her pride in the accomplishments of her students. They have been privileged through the years, as I have, to have learned from her. Life's lessons are not always evident unless we are open to learning.

I will miss you, Caroline. Thanks for the lessons.
