He was a member and elder at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Auburn and also spent many years as a member and chairman of the Owasco Zoning Board and was a member and former Commodore at the Owasco Yacht Club. Walt is predeceased by many relatives including his loving parents; sister-in-law, Donna Button; brother-in-law, Dale Button; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Wasserman.
