Wallace, Harold

Pompano Beach, FL: Harold Wallace, 93, of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away on April 8, 2014. He was born January 30, 1921, to Louis and Anna Wallace in Oneonta, NY. An Ithaca native, Harold was President of Wallace Steel. He served on the Board of Directors for First National Bank and was a member of the Ithaca Country Club. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII as a B-17 bomber pilot. He was a POW in Germany for 8 months and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Air Medal, and numerous campaign and service awards. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid golfer. Harold is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bette, as well as his four children: Mark, Neil and his wife, Michele, Linda, and Reed, as well as five grandchildren: Peter, Michael, Tyler Anne, Mitchell, and Richard.
