I met Robert at Beachtree Care and saw him often; he was my Dad's room mate there. I found him to be a kind and gentle man and knew little of his excellent career, a life well lived. My condolences to the family.

Robert had an amazing life here and although he has gone on to another abode with new experiences, we have our memories of him to comfort us. For instance: Remember the picture of us at a piano? That was taken by an aide during a talent show the first year he was in, what was then called, the Reconstruction Home (Beechtree Care). Even though by that time he could only speak very few words--"piano" being one of them--and could no longer read a book without help, nor could he write; he could, nevertheless, still read music and play piano--with his left hand! The piece being played was Chopin's Nocturne in E Minor, Op. 72, No. 1, which has a lovely, melodious arpeggio base line. Robert (may he be blessed) moved the audience to tears with his extraordinary performance!!

He was deeply spiritual and in the days when we were in a spiritual study group together and exploring various beliefs, he took the mentoring lead. He was happy to share all that he found and was a great inspiration. I'll always remember Robert as a gentle, kind, compassionate, inquisitive, determined, and inspiring soul with a passion for living and a strong belief in eternal life.

Each of you have a place in his heart and he loves you, all. His presence here will be missed, but with the lives he has touched and his tremendous accomplishments, he will live forever in our hearts and memories.

Lots of Love and Many Blessings,

Raihana

To the memory of a wonderful man and great composer. It was a privilege to work with him in the early eightys when I performed his violin sonata at Ithaca College. That inspirational time with him will always remain in my treasure of rewarding musical experiences.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
