Warren received his AB in International Relations from Colgate University; his MA in International Relations from Columbia University; and majoring in International Relations received the degree Docteur es Sciences Politiques from l'lnstitut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales of the Univrsite de Geneve, Switzerland. During World War II he served at Supreme Headquarters (SHAEF) as part of General Eisenhower's staff. At the conclusion of the war Gen. Eisenhower personally awarded him the bronze star. He began his career in education in 1949 at Ohio Northern University where he eventually served as the youngest Dean of the university. The next few years were spent at the International Institute Foundation and then as a director at Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Dr. Hickman developed a unique World Studies program which was the basis for Eisenhower College in Seneca Falls, NY. He was with Eisenhower for thirteen years as Vice President of Academic Affairs until the college was acquired by the Rochester Institute of Technology where he served as Executive Vice President and subsequently retired as Professor Emeritus. Warren's summers were spent at Chautauqua Institution for 87 years where he was often featured as a lecturer and found great joy attending performances by the Chautauqua Symphony and Opera Company. Warren is survived by two children, Warren Hickman of Larchmont, NY and Susan Hickman of Apex, NC; and three grandchildren, Justin and Devin Hickman, and Kevin Boyles, Jr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Hickman in 1989. I have known Mr. Hickman since I was a teenager working in the local pharmacy (over 20 years ago). Everytime I saw Mr. Hickman he would take time to stop, say hello and tell me how nice I looked. He was the sweetest man. I will truly miss him.
