Alan J. "Al, Alfie" Stickane Obituary
Stickane, Alan J.

(Al, Alfie)

1958-2014

Passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 after a long illness. Al had a long career in mechanics. He worked at Caskey's Garage for 33 years with a short hiatus at Dryden School Bus Garage. He loved his work/job and the many relationships with customers. Alan was known for his can-do spirit, charming personality and humor. His greatest joy was working with the Ithaca Fire Department. He loved motorcycling, antique cars and traveling, walking beaches. Alan grew up in the Jacksonville, NY area and graduated from Trumansburg High School in 1976. Alan is survived by Marsha (his wife of 33 years); his mother, Elizabeth Woodams Stickane; his uncle, Edward Woodams; nephew, Devon Stickane; niece, Sara Stickane; and Luke (great nephew); and many many friends. He is predeceased by his father, Gordan Stickane and brother, David G. Stickane. Many thanks to everyone at Cayuga Hematology Oncology Associates, Cortland County Hospice, and the Ithaca Fire Department. A gathering to celebrate Alan's life will be held on Sunday, July 20 beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Myers Park (Pavilion D) in Lansing, NY. Instead of flowers, Alan's wish is that all donations go to the IPFFA (Ithaca Paid Firefighters Association), Sharp Scholarship Fund, PO Box 711, Ithaca, NY 14850. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com
