Cynthia Tkachuck Obituary
Moravia - Cynthia Tkachuck, 72, of Moravia, NY, passed away at Mathew House in Auburn, NY on January 6, 2018, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be held at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 14 Church St. Moravia, NY on Sunday, January 14, 2018: calling hours, 12 pm - 2 pm; social gathering and lunch, 2 pm - 3 pm; funeral service 3 pm.
Cynthia was born at Ideal Hospital in Endwell, NY to Ignace and Mary Cyganovich on January 4, 1946. She attended Candor Central School. She married Richard Tkachuck on May 20, 1995. She graduated from Cornell University in 1993. She retired from Cornell University after 30 years of service. She was an Employee Elected Trustee at Cornell and in retirement Cynthia was an avid bird watcher, gardener and an active member at St. Mathew's Episcopal Church. Cynthia is preceded in death by her father, Ignace Cyganovich.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Tkachuck and children Christina
Homrighouse (David), Shannon Schweiger (Ray), Timothy Gowe (Heather),
Kathleen Gowe (Sue); grandchildren Ryan Gowe (Dorothy), Alyssa Gowe, Sierra, Brianne and Ayasha Schweigher; great-grandchildren Stella and Jamie Gowe.

I am so sorry to have stumbled across this sad news and to have learned that Cindy suffered at all in her final months. Cindy was a terrific encourager and supporter of people and I first got to know her when she was at the Johnson Graduate School of Management. I will always remember her contagious enthusiasm fondly. May her memory be an eternal blessing. My condolences to her family.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Cyndy's loved ones - esp Chris and Shannon. This is difficult to accept - I've known Cyndy since she and my younger sister started Kindergarten together. I often caught a ride to Cornell with Cyndy or Chris and knew Shannon as my niece's close friend. May your many fun and loving memories of your Mom help you through this difficult time. We grew up together, laughed and cried together, and prayed together at St. Francis Catholic Church in Catatonk, NY. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Cyndy shared an office with me at Cornell's Johnson School in the mid-90's. It was like having a cross between a fun older sister and a super-professional colleague rolled into one. I always admired Cyndy's energy, her positive outlook, and her continued interest in learning new things. My deepest condolences to the family, especially Christina, with whom I also worked.
