Age 85, of Freeville, NY died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Cayuga Medical Center. Born July 11, 1928 in Lapeer, NY, Alice was a daughter of the late Charles and Cora Townsend Scutt. Alice previously lived in Summer Hill and Brooktondale. She attended Groton Schools and was employed at Smith Corona for many years until the factory closed. Alice was predeceased by husbands, James L. Case and Otis S. Phillips. Alice treasured spending time with her family. She also enjoyed camping, baking, cooking and canning. Her family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ithaca Dialysis. Survivors include her children, James (Patricia) Case, Jr. of Dryden, Lynda (Ray) Martin of Lakeland, FL, Winiford Ann Campolito of Dryden, Samuel (Rebecca) Phillips of Brooktondale, William (Kim) Case of Berkshire, Pamela (Charles) Dollaway of Ithaca and Otis (Joyce Moon) Phillips, Jr. of Freeville; her companion, Clinton Cornell; her brother, John (Sheila) Scutt of Powell, WY and her sister, Joyce (Rev. Donald) Evans of Cortland; a sister-in-law, Alberta Scutt Border; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Dick L. Case and her siblings, Ray, Patrick, George and Gordon Scutt, Edna Scholes, Lillian Bower and Mary Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Main officiating. Burial, delayed, will be in Groton Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Thursday, from 4 to 6 PM. Memorials are directed to the Brooktondale Fire Dept., 786 Valley Road, Brooktondale, NY 14817.
