Lodico, Lawrence Russell
The Guest Book is expired.
Lawrence Russell Lodico After 88 years, Larry left us early the morning of December 9, 2012, after a short stay at Cayuga Medical Center. He spent his childhood and youth in Elmira, where he attended St. Patrick's School and Elmira Catholic High (now Notre Dame). He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his return home, he earned his degree in chemical engineering from Cornell. He delighted in traveling to new places and making new friends, and this gave him a rich repertoire of stories as well as an endless supply of listeners. He loved choral music and sang with St. Catherine's choir and with the Savages after his relocation to Kendall in Ithaca in 2008. Over the years, death took many of those close to him. Still, even as his own health failed him, Larry kept to the sunny side of life, and he did what he could to help others keep to the sunny side of theirs. Those he left behind will miss him dearly. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Kendall in Ithaca in the auditorium, with a reception to follow. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
