My condolences to the family. I did not know. I found Shirley to be a very loving and caring Christian lady. We are distant cousins and corresponded by mail and telephone. We met in person only once. She told me she was ill and we were hoping to meet again in the new year. I am so sorry. She was a blessing. God bless the family.

I am sorry for your loss

So many of us at the Zoo know each other by looks, rather than by name. When I saw Shirley's photo, I was SO sad to hear of her passing. I last saw her at Christmastime, and what a fighter she was. She was also a delight to work with, and she never complained or wanted sympathy; just to be treated like every other volunteer. She will really be missed in our Zoo "family", and I am sure she made your world a brighter place too. My condolences go to all of her family/friends, and may she now be at peace.

I am so sorry to hear about Shirley's passing. She had so much to give. I am also grateful that she contacted me a few months ago, after only class reunions to keep in touch. I wish I could have done more for her.
