Patrick Concannon Obituary

Concannon, Patrick W.

Ithaca: Patrick W. Concannon of Ithaca, NY died February 23, 2015 in St. Petersburg, FL following a brief illness. Born September 25, 1941 in Weymouth, MA, Patrick was the son of the late John and Florence (Rounds) Concannon. He was a graduate of Boston College and received his M.S. from Northeastern University. In 1971, he received his PhD in Physiology from Cornell University. Patrick was an educator and research scientist at the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Division of Biological Sciences at Cornell University. He was also the Founding Chairman of the International Veterinary Information Service. Patrick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Natalie; his daughter and son-in law, Meghan and Stephen Hess of Chatham, NJ; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Erin Concannon of Manlius, NY; and his five grandchildren, Evelyn, Natalie, David, Kevin and Caroline. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and colleagues for his intellect, humor and passion for sailing and travel. A celebration of his life will be held at the Ithaca Yacht Club on Saturday, April 25th at 1 p.m. Gifts in Patrick's memory may be made to the Strong Memorial Hospital Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department, PO Box 270032, Rochester, NY 14627

I am so shocked and saddened to hear this news this week. He seemed so full of life last time I saw you both in Ithaca. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
