Ella Ramsey Obituary

NEWTON - Ella (Hiebert) Ramsey, 96, died Oct. 14, 2013, at the Kansas Christian Home, Newton.

She was born on Nov. 27, 1916, the daughter of Mary (Friesen) and John E. Hiebert in Lehigh.

Ella married George Ramsey in Hutchinson on July 12, 1937. He died on Jan. 4, 1990, in Yuma, Colo.

Ella was a former member of the Mission Baptist Church of Borger, Texas. Her favorite pastimes were embroidering, reading and puzzles.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, George; one sister, Rose (Hiebert) Weesner; two brothers, Albert and Frank Hiebert; and granddaughter, Carmen Smith.

Survivors include a daughter, Hazel M. Blankenship; granddaughter, Shelia Conner; and six great-grandchildren, Clay, Cody, Ray, Cheyenne Morgan, Gaven and Jeffrey.

Graveside services will be at the Whitewater Cemetery on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Denny Bell presiding. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, from 1-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Good Shepard Hospice.
