Mrs. Evelyn Starnes Sinclair, 76, of Lancaster, wife of Fred William Sinclair, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her home. She was born Aug. 7, 1936 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Johnnie Starnes and Gracie Brown Starnes. Mrs. Sinclair was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She had a wide range of interests and was talented in several areas. Mrs. Sinclair enjoyed cooking and also substitute teaching in public schools. She was also a cosmetologist and a child caregiver. In addition, she enjoyed arts and crafts and playing the piano. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sinclair is 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Revs. Brian Humphries and Randy Mellichamp officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mrs. Sinclair is survived by her husband, Fred William Sinclair; two daughters, Kim Cauthen and her husband, David, and Mindy Watts and her husband, Randy, all of Lancaster; a brother, Donald Starnes of Lancaster; a sister, Alice Miller of Charleston; and three grandchildren, Shauna Gordon, Crystal Cauthen and Amber Cauthen. She was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Starnes. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 965 Wilson Drive, Lancaster. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 800 West Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1905 Country Club Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.
