Catherine Louise Goodale Davis, 84, widow of Hobson Bryan Davis Jr. passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Petersburg, Va., a daughter of the late Charlie Noel Goodale and Eula Mae Hawkins Goodale. Mrs. Davis was a member of Springdell Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries and loved to travel.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Davis will be held at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 12, 2012, in the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Davis is survived by three sons, Richard Bryan Davis and his wife, Cathy, Robin Lynn Davis and his wife, Judy, and Jeffery 'Jeff' Crawford Davis and his wife, Wendy, all of Lancaster; a daughter, Kathy D. Jones and her husband, Thomas, of Great Falls; four brothers, Jerry Goodale and his wife, Gail, and Donnie Goodale and his wife, Sue, both of Cheraw, W.M. Goodale and his wife, Miriam, and Thomas Goodale and his wife, Mary, both of Chesterfield; two sisters, Peggy Morrow of Chesterfield and Elizabeth Goodale of Richmond, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a very special friend and companion for 20 years, Herbert Moree.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Davis; a brother, Ralph Goodale; and her stepmother, Irene Gainey Goodale.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today, Aug. 12, 2012, at Lancaster Funeral Home.
