Dorothy Walters Obituary

Dorothy Beckham Walters, 88, of Lancaster, wife of the late Louie Wilson Walters, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Lexington Medical Center. She was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Elliott Clyburn Beckham and Alverta Watson Beckham. Mrs. Walters was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Customer Service. She enjoyed painting and spending time at the beach.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Walters will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Bateman officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Sharpe Belk and her husband, Dennis, of Heath Springs and Janice Sharpe Bryson and her husband, Terry, of Surfside Beach; four grandchildren, Leslie Collins, Evan Collins, Seth Bryson and Emily Bryson; and two great grandchildren, Landon Collins and Weston Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Wilson Walters; and two sisters, Teresa Perry and Frances Small.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 6, 2013, at Lancaster Funeral Home; and other times at the home of Kathy Belk, 1915 Beach Lane, Heath Springs.
