Anne Taylor Mungo

KERSHAW – Mrs. Mungo, widow of Bruce Gay Mungo, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at her home. Mrs. Mungo was born in the Charlesboro Community of Kershaw and was a daughter of the late William Leroy and Annie Viola Mungo Taylor. She was a retired business owner for many years, operating a turkey farm. She was very active in her church, serving as church treasurer for 25 years, a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with her family. Mrs. Mungo attended business school in Atlanta, Ga. Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Mungo Brown and her husband, Gene, of Avera, Ga., Deborah Mungo Huddleston and her husband, Paul, of Charlesboro and Lisa Mungo Munn and her husband, Mike, of Raeford, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Mary Angela Walden and her husband, Andy, Alan Caskey and his wife, Amy, Michael Mungo, Aaron Mungo, Zachary Mungo, Braxton Cobb Munn, Justin Munn and Kyle Munn; eight great-grandchildren, Adam Andrew Walden, Evan Paul Walden, Amber Caskey, Gauge Caskey, Hannah Helms, Zoe Helms, Ian Grant and Bryson Blackmon; and special caregiver, Sandy Hunter. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Gay "Bo Bo" Mungo Jr.; her sister, Eunice Newman; and five brothers, Hazel Taylor, Perry Taylor, Furman "Bunt" Taylor, W.L. "Cobb" Taylor and James Ray "Jib" Taylor. Funeral services for Anne Taylor Mungo are 3 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Charlesboro Baptist Church, officiated by the Revs. Jackie Bailey and Jerry Potoka, with burial in the Flat Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the church and other times at the home, 8944 Taxahaw Road., Kershaw.
