Cleveland, Tenn. – Caroline Jenkins Henry, 79, a resident of Cleveland, Tenn., passed away on Saturday night, March 8, 2014, at the home of her son in Delano, Tenn.
Caroline was born in Lancaster on Oct. 30, 1934, a daughter of the late Benny and Wilma Jenkins.
She has made Cleveland her home for more than 21 years after moving from South Carolina.
Caroline was a member of Michigan Avenue Church of God where she was very active until her declining health. She enjoyed reading her Bible and sharing her faith with those she came in contact with.
In addition to her parents, Caroline is preceded in death by two sons, Billy Henry and Benji Henry; two sisters, Louise Player and Bobby Pearson; and three brothers, Gerald Jenkins, Jimmy Jenkins and Tommie Jenkins.
Caroline leaves behind to cherish her memory one son, Tim Henry of Delano; two grandchildren, Lacy Lemley and her husband, Landon, and Jordan Henry; one sister, Leitha Twitty; one brother, Donald Jenkins; and numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life was 7 p.m. Tuesday night, March 11, at the Michigan Avenue Church of God, 515 Minnis Road SE, Cleveland, with Pastor David Boles officiating.
The family received friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
The interment and committal service is 4:30 p.m. today, March 12, at Benton Memorial Gardens in Benton, Tenn.
