Mrs. Christell Lodridge Stevens, 84, of Lancaster, widow of the late Edward Stevens, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at Springs Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 2, 1928 in Gorum, La., a daughter of the late Frank Lodridge and Laura Paddie Lodridge. Mrs. Stevens was a member of Church of God. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Stevens will be held 3 p.m. today, Jan. 13, 2013, at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Marty Foster, Brian Barton and James Pegues officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Stevens is survived by three sons, John Stevens and his wife, Gail, Robert Stevens and his companion, Bobbie Callahan, and Harold Stevens, all of Lancaster; two daughters, Doris Sims and her husband, Billy, and Patricia Morgan and her husband, Allen, all of Lancaster; one sister, Clara White, of Ball, La.; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Dollie. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Stevens and Shelton Stevens; two brothers, Arthur Lodridge and Merle Lodridge; and five sisters, her twin, Estelle Lodridge, Marina Delrie, Marvin Maxey, Midred McEntire and Wynona Poisso.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today, Jan. 13, 2013, at Lancaster Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Allen and Patricia Morgan, 1803 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster.
