Ira Thomas Rogers, 61, of Lancaster passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013. Mr. Rogers was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Charlotte, a son of Fred and Jean Flowe Rogers. He was a 1969 graduate of Independence High School. He grew up in the Mint Hill, N.C., area and moved to Lancaster in 1981. He was employed with O'Reilly's Auto Parts. He is survived by his mother, Jean Flowe Rogers of Mint Hill; a twin brother, Ivan ""Jackie"" Rogers of Wingate, N.C.; two sons, Patrick ""Ashely"" Rogers of Lancaster and Jeremy Rogers of Charlotte; and two grandchildren, Erica and Joshua Rogers. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his father, Fred Rogers; and a brother, Ronald Rogers. A memorial service in honor of Mr. Rogers will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, 11501 Bain School Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill. T.H.
