The Rev. Jack Hudson, 79, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013.
Rev. Hudson was born in Lancaster and was a son of the late William Everett and Suelee Carnes Hudson.
Rev. Hudson was a retired Baptist minister. He pastored churches in Mississippi , North Carolina and South Carolina. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his daughter, Becky Padgett and her husband, Marvin, of Camden; his son, Jackie Hudson and his wife, Darlene, of Lugoff; two grandchildren, Stephanie Watts and her husband, Daryl, of Elgin, Alisha Avant and her husband, Shannon, of Lugoff; two great-grandchildren, Carrie Watts and Brayden Avant; his brother-in-law, Durwood Rainey of Lancaster and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death on June 1, 2013, by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Taylor Hudson; two brothers, Clyde and Ralph Hudson; two sisters, Margaret Hudson and Yvonne Rainey.
Funeral services for Rev. Hudson were at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, officiated by the Rev. Stephen Owens, with burial in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden.
