Mr. James Albert Rollins, 92, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. He was born April 26, 1920, in Lancaster and was a son of the late Augustus Rollins and Minnie Broome Rollins. Mr. Rollins was a devoted father and an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. Rollins is survived by his wife, Jewett Griffith Rollins of Lancaster; one son, James A. Rollins Jr. and his wife, Mona Lisa, of Rock Hill; one daughter, Dr. Janet Robinson and her husband, Jim Higgins, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren, James Russell Rollins, Dale Hinson, Jamie Ruth Higgins, Shannon Charles and Sandy Hubbard; and four great-grandchildren, Trent Simmons, Gage Hinson, Havana Charles and Landry Williams. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Hinson; five brothers, Roy, Farley, Gene, John and Lloyd; and six sisters, Gertrude, Mayme, Connie, Eula, Myrtle, and Etta Mae. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Rollins are 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel, 709 N. White St., officiated by the Revs. Lloyd Reid and Jeffrey Rollins, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 4215 Major Evans Road.
