Mr. James Clarence Wright, Sr., 89, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home. He was born March 13, 1924, in Lancaster and was a son of the late Edward Walter Wright and Pearl Ingram Wright Kimberly.
Mr. Wright was a widower of the late Sylvia Boone Wright.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who enjoyed fishing and his little dog, Little Man. Mr. Wright was an avid Braves fan and loved bluegrass music. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a U.S. Army World War II
Mr. Wright is survived by one son, James C. "Jimmy" Wright Jr. and his girlfriend, Alisha Flannigan, of Lancaster; one daughter, Sandra Wright Kirk and her husband, Gene, of Lancaster; one sister, Marguerite Johnson of Gibson, N.C.; two grandchildren, Bobo Wright and Dana Wright Elliott; and four great-grandchildren, Reagen Wright, Ryleigh Wright, Paytyn Elliott and Skyler Elliott.
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Jessica Threatt, Chad Wright and Steve Threatt.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Wright are 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 22, at Lancaster Funeral Home chapel, officiated by the Rev. Randy Mellichamp, with burial in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
