Lillie Mae Davis-Gaines(1944 - 2013)

Mrs. Lillie Mae Davis-Gaines, 69, of 1534 Foxbrook Circle, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster. She was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Chester and was a daughter of the late Raymond Gaines and Lula Bell Rice Mobley. Mrs. Davis-Gaines, a former cosmetologist, was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Leslie, where she sang on the hymn choir. She was a former member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Richburg and New Hope Baptist Church in Charlotte. Survivors include six sons, Otis Davis, William A. Davis, Antonio L. Davis, Matthew Hood, Juan Mason and Randy Hood; two daughters, Angenita Davis and Tijuana Hood; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abb Davis; two daughters, Tecolia Alexander and Barbara Young; one son, Orell Hood Jr.; a grandson, Marlowe Young; and one brother, William Gaines. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the chapel of King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, officiated by the Rev. L.L. Robertson. Burial is 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the V.A. National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C. The family will receive friends at the home. Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today, June 7, at King's Funeral Home. King's Funeral Home is caring for Mrs. Davis-Gaines family.
