HEATH SPRINGS – Mrs. Molly Byrd Catledge, 83, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at her home. She was born Sept.9, 1929, in Lancaster and was a daughter of the late Thomas Cess Byrd and Ola Loretta Tolbert Byrd. She was the widow of Thomas Joseph Catledge. Mrs. Catledge retired from Springs Industries. Mrs. Catledge was a former charter member of Westside Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved spending time with her family and watching TV. Mrs. Catledge is survived by her daughter, Cynthia C. Cook, and her husband, Ricky; two sisters, Mildred Taylor of Fort Lawn and Valda Herring of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Marni Cook Peavy, and her husband, Terry, Cory H. Cook and Les J. Cook, all of Lancaster; and five great-grandchildren, Grayson Peavy, Landon Peavy, Kinsley Cook, Lauren Peavy and Lindsey Peavy, all of Lancaster. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Catledge are 2 p.m. today, April 17, at the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Mike Catoe, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today, April 17, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mrs. Valda Herring.
