Mr. Ronald Dean Casey, Sr. 66, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, Aug.15, 2013, at his home.
He was born December 6, 1946, in Laurens and was a son of the late Marion Harry Casey Sr. and Opal Burke Casey.
Mr. Casey was married to Peggy Aldridge Casey.
Mr. Casey was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church and retired from the Lancaster Police Department after 28 years of service. In his retirement years he enjoyed playing golf and woodworking.
Mr. Casey is survived by his wife, Peggy A. Casey of Lancaster; two sons, R. Dean Casey Jr. of Lancaster and Jason S. Casey and his wife, Nikki, of Sunset; one brother, Buddy Lee Casey and wife, Sis, of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Roby, Coleman, and Selah Casey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marion H. Casey Jr.; and a sister, Rebecca C. Phillips.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Casey are 3 p.m. today, Aug.18, at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by the Revs. Tim Larrimore, Dean Casey, Jason Casey and Donald Tillman, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Lancaster Funeral Home.
