Thomas Randolph Kennington, 65, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Springs Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kennington was born June 2, 1947, in Lancaster and was a son of the late Franklin Eugene Kennington and Azalee Gardner Kennington. He worked for Springs Industries and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Kennington is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jane Catoe Kennington; a daughter, Paula Ivey and husband, Ricky, of Lancaster; two sons, Leland Kennington and wife, Nancy "Peanut," of Lancaster, and Warren "Kru" Kennington of Lancaster; a brother, William "Scookie" Kennington and wife, Patti, of Lancaster; a special friend, Frankie Kolb of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Steven, Brittany and Mickey; three great-grandchildren, Dawton, Tyler and Cody; three step-great-grandchildren, Makayla, Miranda and Layla; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra "Pee Wee" Hester. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Mahaffey Chapel, McLean Funeral Directors, 201 N. Catawba St., officiated by the Rev. Todd Robinson, with a private interment. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 29, at McLean Funeral Directors of Lancaster and other times at the daughter's home, 870 Stroup Road.
