Mr. Thornwell Hall, 89, of Lancaster, husband of Vera Lee Moore Hall, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at White Oak Manor.
He was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Lucknow, a son of the late Willie Hall and Bessie Hall.
Mr. Hall was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army
Veteran of World War II
, was a farmer and had retired from Springs Industries.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hall is 3 p.m. today, March 2, at the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Anglin and Curtis Cameron officiating.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Vera Lee Moore Hall; a son, Ronnie Hall and his wife, Ann, of Lancaster; two daughters, Rhonda H. Sims and her husband, Randy, and Robin H. Laws and her husband, Eddie, all of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Brian Hall, Chris Hall, David Sims, Angie S. Neal, Josh Wright and Madison Wright; and 11 great-grandchildren, Avery Sims, Branson Sims, Mason Sims, Ethan Sims, Ashton Neal, Taylor Neal, Jackson Schrum, Kayla Hall, Dylan Hall, Andrew Hall and Lestat Wano. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by five brothers, Sammie Hall, Willard Hall, Reecel Hall, Vernon and Marion Hall; and a sister, Bonnie Bell Sullivan.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. today, March 2, at Lancaster Funeral Home.
