Mr. Leo R. Maguire, age 87, died Tuesday, Oct.15, 2013. 
He was born Sept. 11, 1926, in Lynn, Mass., the son of the late Leo Joseph Maguire and Agnes Jeannette Maloney Maguire, and was the husband of Mary Faulkner Maguire. 
Mr. Maguire retired as vice president and general manager of Lehigh-Lancaster, Inc. He was a graduate of the University of Maine and the University of South Carolina, where he obtained a master's degree in business administration. Mr. Maguire served as chairman of the board of Elliott White Springs Memorial Hospital, and as president of the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Lancaster and both Lancaster Rotary Clubs. He also served as a director of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina and the South Carolina Development Board. He served as a trustee from 1995 to 2004 and served as chairman from 2002 to 2004.  Mr. Maguire previously served on the board for South Carolina National Bank/Wachovia Bank and was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church.
Mr. Maguire is survived by his wife, Mary Faulkner Maguire of the home; a son, Michael R. Maguire and his wife, Kim, of Gastonia, N.C.; a daughter, Kathleen "Katy" M. Heide of Fort Mill; two sisters, Claire Maguire and Marilyn Maguire Girard; and four grandchildren, Kelly Maguire, Kristen Maguire, Christopher Heide and Adam Heide.
Mr. Maguire was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Louise Gardner.
The Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Maguire is 11 a.m. today, Oct. 18, at St. Catherine Catholic Church by the Rev. David A. Runnion, pastor.     
The family of Mr. Maguire received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, Oct. 17, at Burgess Funeral Home with the vigil service at 5:30 p.m. 
The family suggests memorials to Holy Angels, 6600 Wilkinson Blvd., Belmont, NC  28012; or St. Catherine Capital Campaign, 720 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
