Dora Inez Rawls, 81, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 18, 2013, with her family by her side.

Inez was born on Jan. 6, 1932, in Chesterfield County, a daughter to the late George C. and Annie Harp Howle. She is predeceased by husbands John T. ""Tommy"" Johnson and David L. Rawls; son, Larry Johnson; three brothers, Vernon, Emmit and Richard Howle; and two sisters, Elaine Vaughn and Juanita Johnson.
Inez is survived by a daughter, Linda St. Lous (William); a son, Eddy Johnson; two brothers, George Howle Jr. and C. Tycho Howle (Marie); two granddaughters, Mindi Crisler (Scott) of Columbia and Micki Hammond (Will) of Charlotte; a grandson, Greg Johnson (Sonya) of Indian Land; and seven great-grandchildren, Brittany, Addison and Annaliese Johnson, Caroline and Ella Crisler, and Liam and Kaytlin Hammond.
Inez truly loved her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked many years for Springs Industries and later for her brother before becoming a full-time homemaker. She loved to cook and garden. Sunday dinners for her were special, as this was a tradition for the family. After family dinners, she would enjoy the laughter of her grandchildren playing in the yard that she so carefully tended.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 20, 2013, at McLean Funeral Directors Mahaffey Chapel. The funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov 21, 2013, at Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church, 2914 Old Hickory Road.
