LANCASTER – Mrs. Esther Priscilla Roberts, 78, of Lancaster passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.
She was born March 24, 1940, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Dewey Franklin Roberts and Alma Irdelle Adams Roberts.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family and her church. Mrs. Roberts was a past member of The Eastern Star and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday school class at Camp Creek Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express their special thanks to the staff at Lancaster Convalescent Center and Hospice Care of South Carolina.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Roberts will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rod Yow officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by a daughter, Lee Ann Whitener of Thomas, Ga.; three grandchildren, Mary Frances Richards, Ayden Whitener and Roland Mullins; three sisters, Myrtice Williams of Myrtle Beach and Vernelle Braun and Nadine Kirk and her husband, Dennis, all of Heath Springs; brothers-in-law, John Adams, Billy Ray Jenkins and Mickey Neal, all of Lancaster; and sisters-in-law, Louise Stoddard of Kershaw and Lois Roberts of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, George W. Roberts, Clayton Roberts and William Roberts; and three sisters, Cornelia Adams, Sarah Jenkins and Linda Neal.
The family will receive friends following the service at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Vernelle Braun.
